Read/watch "Into the Wild", but here is the spoiler: in the end, he realizes that he was being selfish and should have been working to make others happy. To some extent this article captures that mentality. I think it is great to do what yo

While I think it is great to put together information like this and I look forward to it becoming more useful as it is expanded, these wiki pages are currently woefully short and contain generalizations that could do more harm than good. So

Depends on your audience. For a tech audience, maybe one of each is fine without confirmation. Technical users would be more careful. For a much less technical audience (at least 50% of FB users) you can never be too careful. FB would proba

I think the issue Ryan mentioned with FB is a general issue these past several years with more than just FB's API and documentation. Everyone seems to be more sloppy these days. People call their processes agile, throw in a task manager, th

I thought about this before (P2P communication similar to Twitter), but not via ssh. Why not just dedicate an incoming port (configurable) per group that you want to associate with? - As soon as you started the connection, it would try to c

Is it ok? Yes. Is it helpful? No. I speak from experience as an introvert (turned semi-extrovert, sometimes). If you want to do well, you need to get along with people. You can do this to a certain extent by just going the extra mile to ask

Why not convert it into a community-powered video translation site (and possibly add subtitling capabilities- allow users to enter text to display at bottom)? Also, why not market the kids and teenagers that want to do MST3000-like overdubb

Great post. To be blunt, I think there is a balance between helping/screwing the users of your free service and helping/screwing your bottom line. While we like to think of Google and Facebook as altruistic companies, they have bills to pay
