I have to wonder if I spend too much time reading comments here when I read a comment like above and think, "that's something patio11 would say" only to look at the name... EDIT: Thought I should add something of value to the conversation..

What do they gain by doing this? I just don't get it. I have no problem with them not supporting hacking their devices but to go out of the way to prevent it (let alone bricking it) doesn't make any sense. We wouldn't accept it from a compu

Again you aren't getting what it's all about. Being desperate or clingy is not always a manifestation of insecurity. It's possible to act desperate or come on too strong and not even realize it. But this is just one example. You seem to r

I think you're missing the point. As an example, you could be "exposing yourself to someone without a moment of hesitation" and be desperate or clingy. Desperate and clingy are things most people find unattractive. That's just the way it is

Get an antenna from <any store that sells TVs>, plug it into your HD-ready TV and scan for channels. You should get ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS and other local channels. Most channels have sub-channels that might show weather, alternate

I don't believe they have any sport, which is why it can't replace cable for me. Just checked on Formula 1 and it looks like Fox is broadcasting the next race live. Subsequent races appear to be live on SPEED.

And then pay $10/month more for internet. For me it makes more sense to get a basic TV plan and get more than what you get with an antenna. Especially if you have multiple TVs or get poor reception. You'll pay more than internet alone but i

$5M puts you in the top 1%. I'd say that fits the definition of "rich" for most of the other 99%. Maybe $5M wouldn't put you that high in the Silicon Valley but I'm sure it's close. Also, can I ask if you experience is first hand? If not, b

I served this one up on a platter for someone to take but I think lkozma's reasoning is more plausible. I don't think ErrantX's comment was based in ethnocentrism. It's just a way of describing a non-regional accent in the US and apparently

Privacy isn't an issue of either having it or not. For most of us there is a line (that moves depending on who is on the receiving end of the information) that we don't want crossed. It's far from dead.
