A real time strategy game like Wargame or WARNO[1] but using REAL 3D map data from Apple/Google maps. So you could have a massive scale ground and air war using real map data in say, the south bay area. You could garrison an infantry u

This has to be a joke. The sheer buzzword/BS density is just too high for this article to be real.

These are called London Dispersion forces. You can think of it somewhat like an electrostatic interaction except on a “temporary” basis, like fluctuations in the electron densities around nuclei spontaneously cause weak attraction between t

Well, there’s sort of two paradigms here for me personally. For one, academic and research interests. For these, I get some kickback because people who use the software cite it in their publications. So I spend some considerable time upkeep

Personally, as a phd candidate in STEM I think this is awesome. I do not care that he “skipped steps” in getting a PhD. His contribution to the body of scientific knowledge was deserving of a doctorate as determined by experts in the field,

There is also the notion of “hard work” - like WHY are some people hard working and others are not? Is hard work more pleasurable for some people than others? Why do some choose to work hard and others do not? I’d contend it is also a kind

You might consider the image shown to actually be more impressive than a regular 2D image since it is a tomography done in 3D. There is far more information in this simulated image than in say, an SEM image of graphene. Also, it’s hard to s

quite the opposite diet can be claimed by the inuit. more, the most powerful civilization in the world, the US, has objectively one of the worst diets in history.

I read this cover to cover. I did not think it was very useful for someone who has experience in the field. For a total beginner, may be slightly useful.

Not sure this applies but I’ll just plug my super early stage CLI task manager (github.com/ardunn/dex). It’s FOSS, kind of like taskwarrior but it tells you how to prioritize your tasks. It fills in the “personal management” spac

From what this article says, it looks like the Sheriff is going to get absolutely vaporized in court. Putting the sheriffs faulty logic aside, it’s just a poor strategic move to not just apologize...

You can buy a Xim to use KB+M on Xbox or PS4. Works pretty well but it’s kind of like cheating for shooter games.

Seaborn is nice for making “standard” plots. but if you need to customize your graphics somewhat, you’ll find yourself needing to use MPL in addition to Seaborn anyway.

I’ve always categorized MPL as one of the worst designed (popular) python libraries... if not THE worst. Yet, I still find it useful even in comparison with other more modern libraries like Plotly’s Python API.

Good catch, I don’t think they mention that in the main article (at least in reader view). In this case I guess the “AI” label is relatively well applied (compared to the scope of ALL things I’ve seen it haphazardly slapped on), but yeah,
