- allovernow 7y agoConfirming, and far less than two years. If you have good credit, you can get a decent house, 3+BR with 5k-10k sqft lot, within reasonable commuting distance for $250k-$350k with $20k-$40k down which is pretty easy to save up in 6-12 months with a 100k+ salary in Houston. The downside is that Houston is topographically flat, there's not much to do outside, and summer months are oppressively hot/humid.
