Well, if I'm not mistaken, Windows linking usually involves re-calculating offsets in the library code, so several versions of libraries are kept in Windows too. The only thing that is theoretically saved is disk space.

Currently Canonical encourages using QML for writing apps that will be mobile-friendly: http://developer.ubuntu.com/get-started/gomobile/ Maybe this is going to be the mobile toolkit you’re talking about?..

All the above; but they are closely related. If the program has too many lines of code, it tends to be not too well organised (because it usually means it does too much) and it usually means it has too much features (thay could be easily mo

vim comes with a built-in program language vimscript and its very own spellchecker. If vim is not complex, than what is? I could argue that nvi may be not too complex, but vim is certainly too complex. (An good example of an editor that is

Because vi and emacs are just too complex and do things that should be done by separate programs, like formatting?

I’ve tried to adapt your code snippet into an UserScript: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/154080 It works OK, but I’ve run into a problem with textareas: if a textarea contains the name of the Great Leader, after script executes, the

One could make an user JavaScript out of this (I guess replacing «span.className= 'kju';» with «span.style.fontSize = '150%';» should be enough) and enjoy the correct typesetting all over the Internet!

Laws are not set in stone (and when they were, in Hammurapi’s time, it didn’t help much), and some laws are clearly stupid and vicious. For example, in imperial China, it was once illegal for an ordinary person to keep astronomical tools at
