Where are the competitive models from Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Russia, Canada, India, the UK? From anywhere that isn't China or the US? There are none. Mistral Small 4 is pareto-competitive in its pricing bracket at $0.15/

Can't agree at all. Productivity gap just 1 year ago was much larger for frontier model vs non-frontier. Let alone 2 years ago.

What a joke. If "Anthropic is just a bunch of script kiddies" then everyone is, considering dozens of billions pored into beating their models yet they're still the go-to for coding and have been for quite a while now. Just a

Ah yes, after a decade of being one of the worst pieces of software with 10M+ MAU, literally only gaining market share because of monopolistic bundling practices. So bad that if a startup had made Microsoft Teams they would've gone out

Not sure if you're facetious but there are plenty of examples of rising cigarettes' prices leading to reduction in smoking, or similarly a sugary soda tax reducing consumption of sugary soda (UK is a prime example).

Good to know, did you also try non-coding or is that what you use it for? For tasks unrelated to coding we've generally preferred Gemma.

1. Good point, didn't know about the timeouts, that's rough for the benchmarks. Though they IMO don't necessarily be "SWE-official" to have value, if the only difference is disabling those. 3. Maybe you could instea

In places with reasonable consumer protections (Australia, Germany) it almost certainly is illegal unless they give a full (whole year) refund. I think the short time limit of applying for a refund won't be looked at favorably either.

That's not an answer. It's specifically a discrepancy between 5.4 and 5.4-mini. If you look at all other models/generations you see that the cheaper model indeed has a lower multiplier. It's very strange that only 5.4 do

Yeah, you're in the worst hit category by far. Both for B2C and enterprise B2B there are reasons that mitigate it a lot.

1. Would be good to benchmark at least one other model from a different family to see if it indeed generalizes. Minimax 2.7 seems a good candidate to keep it affordable. Until then we can't really tell if it's just overfit on Gemi
