Ask HN: Paid ambient/background noise for focus?
I love https://ambiph.one, which I discovered on HN. Particularly things like "coffee shop", "jungle", "stream", "ambient radio", "lo-fi beats radio" and so on.
The problem for me is that they're maybe a few hours, then they loop. "Coffee shop" seems to loop within an hour. I'm happy to pay, even monthly, for a service that has these things but goes 50+ hours without looping. I know of SomaFM and others that can replace the "ambient/lo-fi beats radio", but that doesn't really work for the others.
- bozdemir 6mo agoI generally use brown/white noise generators, also mixed with some music, check ios White noise lite by TMSOFT, a decent one, there is a paid version.
- saidnooneever 6mo agothis exactly, you can generate certain noises via algos which can run basically infinitely. I cant imagine there is not some online radio or app you could put on which just runs a noise generator maybe with optional pad or whatever... surely this exists by now? (otherwise perhaps u can ask claude to chuck it together and make u some $$ - this is not an uncommon thing to want)
- sfmz 6mo agoMake a yt playlist of lo-fi, there's a lot of it, then u can dl it with yt-dlp. Mexican lo-fi is a nice sub-genre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4XHt0iVfRU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4XHt0iVfRU
