That is great! NX has similar compatibility, though not quite as good. In some cases, the actual version code of a feature is invoked by that data being encoded as part of the model data schema. Literal encapsulation in action. That way b

It reminds me of a similar conflict in public records. Many municipalities charge for copies of public records. One can go to viewing rooms and examine the records at no charge. We all own those records as members of the public that funde

I do not trust the motives here. It is hard to find a more textbook example of regulatory capture. Now, to be fair, Altman may be proposing this to shut more draconian regulations down. But it smells bad. And I am definitely not the only

Good comment! I am mentoring one who you mean. Left on the streets at 13. That is the root cause of their trouble. The baggage is incredibly difficult to get past. A lot of that is systemic.

My co-founder will have trouble with this, as would several others. Over the years, I have held enough varied and deep IT and development roles to warrant volunteer mentoring aimed at combating this kind of thing. My experience says the gr

Maybe it just doesn't work as often. My mobile setup is damn near as good as my desktop is. I got that all too familiar fill intro to groove we love to loathe same as it always was intended.

Excellent! We are fortunate the current owner of that domain is as others mention chaotic good. Side note: Dungeons and Dragons role play is a meaningful part of our culture in ways I am sometimes amazed by. I think back in wonder to cam

You know when I faced this I called around and talked to three attorneys. Your comment may be more accurate then I realized at first. One attorney I talked to was relatively inexpensive but I can tell I had a grudge against the cops and the

Well, the Defense attorneys I know differ in their opinion of public defenders. And defense in general? Necessary, unless we intend on jailing lots of people who do not deserve it. I also feel we need to break this down too. There is a bi

What one can do is pay for their own representation and when acquitted, file a tort to recover financial damages from the entity who picked the fight. That is what I did when I faced this scenario. Takes a long time. Speedy trials suddenly

Yup. Anyone charged with a crime would be well advised to do whatever it takes to seek council directly, as in finding a way to pay for it. Public defenders are doing noble work. They are also denied the resources necessary to perform tha

NeXTSTEP! I never had the experience and wish I had. It was like IRIX in that the team really pushed things and got results! Running that stuff at it's peak was living a future for a while. Good times.

Yes. For me, part of it is the display tech in use. Those monochrome CRT displays look great! And that "white" phosphor helps augment the whole thing in a way an LCD misses the mark on, but just slightly. Still looks great. For

I love 1bpp pixel art and the whole site looks great! Nice work, or shall I say labor of love? On a whim, I picked up an e-ink display, 1800x1400 that has 16 grey shades, though I am unclear whether that is per pixel. Should know soon. As

I had similar thoughts and then jumped into SGI IRIX. Expensive as it gets, but frankly best computing experience I have had! No regrets. I did have some dependence, but it passes and I am glad to have that perspective which can come from

I agree. The discussion has merit. I hate to say it, but there are times when something is illegal, but the scenario challenges that in a super compelling way. JN both brings that to light and gives a jury that opportunity to support an a

Different processes. The watches run at 32768 Hz. And they have crazy efficient electronics. A couple of gates in your clock likely exceed the entire power budget of a watch.

Ben is doing a fantastic job creating that same computing learning ramp so many of us grew up on. Anyone wanting to get into computing at a low level could easily do worse. Ben's kits are fantastic!
