Carbon = OS X + OS 9 native code. It has nothing to do with the PC version (well, it does a little bit, but that is irrelevant to this discussion).

Don't you remember that Apple was first trying to force everything on the iPhone to be done on the web?

Apple purposefully wrote Finder in clean Carbon as an example to developers, to prove that it was possible to make good cross-platform software. iTunes was also written very carefully -- and very cleanly -- in Carbon to be cross-platform. A

This is really awesome. I'm going to Bangkok on Saturday so I tweeted "@wtf bangkok", and it keeps tweeting me the top stories about bangkok as they happen (like the grenade attack earlier today). Only suggestion: let me track multiple topi

If you think about Apple from the perspective of their customers, without bias toward iPhone developers, they still seem like cool people.

I think it's funny how no one has noticed that the iPhone/iPad SDK essentially has resolution independence built-in. All the Interface Builder default controls are vectorized and can scale beautifully.

It knows how quickly you change/scroll through pages while you read, so it can make a reasonable assumption of the number of words you read per minute and create an estimation that way.

More like, "Oh, wow, they got a lot of attention from their market! If I write the same thing using different words, I can get lots of attention in my market!" It works.

I don't think this has anything to do with Facebook or the email. It has everything to do with people being interested in photos of themselves and items connected to them.

That's still a terrible description. What makes location data "rich"? And how do developers use "rich location data" to "leverage the location of their users?" What exactly does it do?

iPhone and iPad deal with files, one way or the other. For mere mortals, the 'file' as a concept is further up on the pyramid of taxonomy; most people think about their stuff in lower classifications like photos, movies, documents, etc. W

This isn't really true. You can incorporate a company and as long as you have two US citizen employees, you can get a company health plan that bypasses pre-existing conditions. (This is true in California by law, but I am not sure about oth
