I use Notion databases for this. They're essentially spreadsheets with customizable table, list, kanban views, and each row gets its own wiki-style page in addition to the structured data. So it's nice for lists of books or movies

My example is precisely about practical convenience. If I try to do something very normal in Terminal.app, namely use a text editor with a theme, it will look like garbage.

As an example, here is the Helix editor (neovim looks just as bad) in Terminal.app vs. ghostty (would look just as good in any other modern terminal). https://imgur.com/a/terminal-app-left-vs-truecolor-tddRL0C

Built-in terminal doesn’t support truecolor. Many CLI programs rely on that to look good.

The latter. “Learning” in the comment clearly refers to adding to the knowledge graph, not about training or fine-tuning a model. “and then you can RAG them.”

It’s the first result for “ki editor” on Google as well. I suspect they just typed in “ki”.

I don’t think beginners are beginning by reading the release notes. Note that the wonderful learning guide doesn’t even discuss these advanced hooks. https://react.dev/learn Even the reference section of the site makes cl

The problem is that this fundamental claim undermines the entirety of the argument. You can build a good web experience in React if you care about the user experience.

I'm probably not going to be the one to figure them out, but like I suggested, hot reload on every keystroke is the first thing that comes to mind. It's probably better not to think of Tailwind CSS on its own here, but rather as o

I think a lot of the optimization work was for dev time and it carried over to build time. I listened to a podcast interview with Adam Wathan where I think he said they just got really into shaving nanoseconds. They have a very successful b

iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard might not be too far off for the tiny laptop one. Though those are 11” and 13”, and you’re on iOS instead of macOS.

I thought that might be the case. On that: even though other big players haven't copied that particular feature, I doubt (though I'm not by any means an expert) that it's anywhere near as hard to replicate as the fundamental

In their defense, in my phrasing, what is sent and to whom had equal weight. But you’re exactly right: obviously it is OpenAI and Anthropic. The private content being sent is the important part.

Thanks for the Anytype rec. I have similarly been looking for a good alternative since they turned on AI features you can’t easily opt out of. And I’m not some anti-LLM zealot — I use them every day. I’m not even worried about them training

It’s an important insight that the state space for UI is very large and that is why intuition is especially useful — it’s rarely feasible to account for all possibilities analytically. This is true to some extent in all areas of software de

That much I will concede. I said we’ve had good results, but we’ve still been a bit scared to roll it out, more for potential cost and polish reasons than baseline quality, but of course I’m still worried about it saying something wrong.
