Since the article assumes familiarity with the DDX3216 (or the lack of need thereof), I had to look it up: the DDX3216 was released in 2002, assuming this Sound on Sound review is contemporary: https://www.soundonsound.com/r

Have you ever tried to write HiDPI-aware Win32 code? I suggest enabling HiDPI in Control Panel sometimes and marveling at how many Win32 apps just don’t notice and draw as postage stamps. Mac OS X 10.4 tried the same thing (Quartz2D scaling

Oh my sweet summer child. Even software being written TODAY isn’t being tested in HiDPI. Win32 still makes it difficult.

You’re thinking of the Bonjour sleep proxy. Normally if you tried to ssh to `mymac.local`, but your Mac was asleep, nothing would respond to the mDNS broadcast for `mymac.local`. If it had been long enough that your local mDNSResponder cach

What do you mean by “this succeeded?” Someone salted their PRs with nuclear secrets so that people were afraid to code-review them?

In my experience, it’s usually but not always enough for the hills in SF. But more importantly, regen can’t handle emergency braking (it would generate too much current and heat), and you can’t regen at all if the motor loses its path to th

Nothing about the UNIX shell is reliant on the fork model. Windows processes have stdio handles as well.

If you want the isolation features of a separate process, you can’t substitute it with a single multithreaded COM server process. .NET tried this with app domains, which are now deprecated.
