If you’re regularly a large customer like that, seems like just moving to AWS directly would make the most sense right?

Web dev? I’ve met many 3-5 dev companies even who have a mix of OS’s but mainly if they do client and backend dev too, I can see a small web dev team being Mac only.

This. I firmly believe if you are making a platform or saas product for devs you need to be building an application that uses it first or in parralel even though building the platform sounds more important and higher impacting and everyone

Coscreen does afaik. Works pretty well. You would think that a team focused application needs both to do well. I did a bunch of interviews with engineering teams for a similar product idea that said as much. We built an alpha of one even wi

Alright I can definitely say Apple in store support has gone downhill since years ago when Jobs was around and they were more luxury feel, not to date myself too much. Signed up for a demo, booked a week in advance, got there and waited the

They are pretty closely tied, and are directly building atop GPT4V for this, I would not bet that they are this decoupled.

Hard to "beat" someone when you have a very close partnership and you're using their model (GPT-4V), likely this is developed quickly with input from OpenAI. I don't think it's right to think of the two as competing

I don't get the strategy. Partner with Perplexity one week then introduce your own OpenAI based mini-search the next, and say it's the new product focus?

This partnership is way too vague. I have to assume Google is just investing money into HF and getting some marketing and integrations in return. When deciding where to host models or which services to use for my startup, I have a hard time

I think Neal Stephenson’s vision in Interface is more likely. An AI augmented candidate that adjusts and responds to sentiment in near real time with the right signals coming in, trained to manipulate and appeal.

Many companies are using "open source" as marketing rather then actually releasing open source software and models. No data? Not open source. Special license cutting out self-hosting or competitive use? Not open source.

Yep, we're doing RAG-ish search and ranking across many context types and modalities, you definitely can't just use a vectordb and do some chunking/search, there are a wide variety of search-like ranking, clustering, etc. and
