Take the heartbreaking story about a phone getting stolen away That part is pretty integral to the story. You might as well say "Take away the part about the pictures and you're just left with a story of a stolen phone."

The fact that the Marshmallow Test predicts life quality doesn't mean that genetics do not. The marshmallow test may (or may not) simply reflect underlying traits that are genetically determined.

This is an old problem. Cameras also let others monitor your sex life. Of course, that's only true if you take pictures while you are having sex and then share those pictures with others... just like with wearable fitness devices.

If they are net consumers of the staple, they must be net producers of some other crops. If the price of the staple increases dramatically, can't they shift towards eating other crops (that they were previously net producers of)?

How does the dichotomy between Python 2 and 3 affect your productivity or coding experience? I'm using 2.7, and I can't recall the existence of 3 ever causing a problem.

The Zen of Python states that "practicality beats purity." And the authors of numpy, scipy, pandas, etc seem to agree that it would be impractical to rewrite these libraries in the way you are suggesting.

If you take that point of view, than all of this advice about how to dress in a professional environment is irrelevant to most of us.

I personally haven't met anybody who, given the choice, prefers looking like a disheveled slob. I prefer wearing gym shorts to slacks. If that preference qualifies as "wanting to look like a disheveled slob," then a large

In Ben's defense: The original article declares random forest a "winner" over neural networks. Ben's comment is a cautionary note that this result only applies to a specific class of problems. This was a nice post, but i

He may know about PyPy, but need to use libraries that only work with CPython. Numpy is an example of this type of library, though there are many others. Unfortunately, PyPy isn't a viable alternative for most scientific computing prob

No one wants to sell cars that consumers won't buy. There are a few diesel car models available in US (e.g. the VW Passat TDI and Jetta TDI). But Americans don't buy enough of them to cause more manufacturers to sell diesel model
