How about, let's hope Apple open sources Swift like they did with Objective C To be honest, don't hold your breath. If you research the history of Objective-C you'll realize that it was in fact the first GPL violator. It&#

An image diff is pretty simple. If you represent an image as a vector of values, diffing just means subtracting two vectors abs(A-B) and writing out the result into a new image. template<typename T> T diff(const T& a, co

I'm a C++ developer, and Rust looks very exciting to me. Maybe I'm optimistic, but Rust really looks like it can be a serious C++ contender in the long run. Talking with other C++11/C++14 users here, the general feeling is t

Personally I don't think it's so useful of a feature; it saves typing a few asterisks but obscures the fact that you're actually modifying some other variable There are many real-world use cases where references are exactly

I noticed that the description says, "Inspired by SourceTree" for the line-by-line staging feature, but actually git-cola[1] invented that feature, before even git-gui, and SourceTree just copied us 8^) Also, if you're going

Teflon is bad too[1]. It's quite horrible IMO. Additional source: I know a lawyer that worked for DuPont. Their job was ensuring that DuPont would never be held accountable for problems caused by Teflon. That was enough evidence for me

Unfortunately qmail shows its age and may no longer be a good choice these days Last I checked, Yahoo (Mail) uses qmail. Can anyone verify whether that is still true today?

I tried submitting an existing project. Sure, it wasn't created yesterday, but... You're not supposed to submit a project created ONE year ago. People just want fresh air. That's a bummer. Why not? Fresh air did n

Very interesting, I never considered looking at the conflicts that way. It might be helpful to allow looking at the conflicts in the diff3 conflict marker style. The advantage is that you get to see the common ancestor, which can be crucial
