It comes with a 15 minute demo of the Portland area, so can be tried on your system easily. It's also cross platform.

That's a hard question, as they are all a little flawed in some way. Something like: Varjo Aero - probably the nicest overall, but quite expensive. HP Reverb G2 - nice for sit-down VR like simulators etc. Not great for general VR so mu

Recommending VR gaming to someone is hard, it's like saying 'Go on this rollercoaster, you'll love it!' which a good chunk of people will just not enjoy it. There are moments of brilliance and kludgy pits of annoyance. I

As a young kid in 1982 I thought those graphics were stunning, at least compared to text based games I'd been playing. For the future I personally think it really depends on if mainstream AR/VR will get traction or not, and there

I bought the 1982 version. Today I'm sat in VR [1] with MSFS [2], flying over photogrammetry scenery streamed from the cloud, using consumer flight controls [3] modelled on a real Boeing 737 [4], talking to an air traffic controller in

The 'T' in TDD stands for design. :) The name of it has always hurt the concept I think. In my experience TDD uptake and understanding suffers because a lot of developers are in a context of using an existing framework, and that f

I would be tempted by this if I could try out SimulaVR first using my HP Reverb G2 HMD. It has great resolution, but I don't think there is a Linux driver that I guess would be the pre-requisite? I know a lot of people into VR for flig

If there is going to be a metaverse, I'm not sure I want Facebook to own it. It's like a bad sci-fi pulp story. Given their investment and research, I wonder if they should open it all up (even if contradictory to short-term gains

In ruby if you have the right json schema set up it works. I'm not sure I completely grok yet how the data extractors would work on the ruby side yet though. https://i.imgur.com/84mgPdF.jpg

Thanks for the info - I think I would personally be much more interested in trying out VSCode as my main editor if I knew I could also SSH Remote to MacOS as well as Docker containers and the like.

DisneyWorld seem to be planning a gondola-based system for between two parks and two hotels. It is cheaper than extending the mono-rail and probably nicer for all than the usual buses they have. http://wdwnt.com/blog/20

I've used this for a couple of hobby projects and it's been fun. One thing I think it does need soon is a VR Browser for the Oculus Rift and/or Vive HMD's as well. Currently the use of the 'Carmel' VR browser i

On a quick page-down through the code, I think this is not related to AWS-Lambda, it's more 'local lambda' where the map etc is run locally.

Just 3rd party I believe. FlyInside are at the moment gathering people for a beta using the Rift and Vive with X-Plane. Their FSX plugin is excellent. More info at their forums here https://flyinside-fsx.com/
