I gotta say that seems like a bad reason to remove the feature. If someone intentionally set a hard spend limit - hit it - and their service went down because of it that's not Google's fault. The simple solution for that customer

There are other possible approaches that could be taken - e.g. a full bootloader wipe required, per-app permissions that must be allowed, federated third party app stores, parental controls, etc. Although at the end of the day people will s

Fair point, but I have to believe Apple could come up with technical solutions to these issues. Or not - in which case we end up with a world not that unlike macOS. Which isn't that bad in my opinion. I'd still rather have that op

So if you really want that level of centralization then at the very least can't we agree that Apple should reduce it's fee (30% of ALL revenue for some basic binary hosting and payment processing?) and be far less restrictive in i

Apps in iOS are sandboxed anyway so spyware/virus concerns are less of an issue just due to the platform itself. But I agree with the other posters: literally making it impossible for me to willingly do something with my own device is

I get the sentiment, but not sure I agree with the "either interpret it, or don't" part - it sounds like you are essentially saying the scripting should either match Bash completely (and thus lose out on the more modern synta

This article actually inspired me to try and solve the problems outlined in the post. Because who knows if or when sites like BeatSaver will get shut down or specific songs removed due to copyright claims. Even Beat Games' CEO has said

It's not an "undeniable right" but it's also not like there are a lot of other options. You can say "just move to another platform" or "then make your own platform" but you also have to be a realist.

Thanks for posting this publicly. I’m all for the general idea of reigning in unnecessary data collection/prioritizing user privacy, but sometimes you just need certain features to make things work!

Hmm, I see your point, but on the other hand: is that really a good reason to continue the status quo of shell scripting if there are improvements to be made? Being practical about it: if you install fish you can also install bash, and then

Not the OP, but I agree with both of you actually. It's easier in many ways to run a POSIX-compliant shell with a more "familiar" scripting language to bash users (especially when it comes to running existing scripts or one-l

I don't think that holds anymore. Have you used both Flow and Typescript recently? Speaking from experience: I can't imagine anyone doing so and concluding that Typescript is the "worse technology" at this point.

Have you tried redux-saga? I built several projects without using it (the generators kinda put me off for some reason), but once you actually use it to build a full app you will never go back to thunks. It makes pretty much all the things

Personally, I find Redux to be a joy to use and write code with. I agree that there is a lot of "boilerplate" for new developers , as Redux does not really come with a batteries-included "framework" to build CRUD apps -
