Ovum may have been wrong on the IPhone but that doesn't mean that Android tablets would not outsell the IPad by 2015. Remember, a lot of people back in 2008 were saying that it will take a long time for Android to surpass the IPhone. It too

Yes but this is MG Siegler's article. He cherrypicks certain data to show that Android is inferior to iOS. Majority of Android phones are on 2.1 and up. For him that's not enough so he had to break it down to specific releases (2.1, 2.2, an

This article is so spot on. If you discount its success on Android, Search, etc and high-performing stock, Google has pretty much been a failure.

Gimmick? I think calling Wiimote/Kinect a gimmick shows lack of imagination. Motion-based UI opens a lot of possibilities that will extend beyond gaming.

I live in the Bay Area and are spending a few weeks in DC. We always hear that Android is for geeks but based on what I've seen from people in DC, it's not. Among my friends in DC who has Android: dentist, doctor, accountant, sales manager.

I'm a 100% certain that you have not developed on Android. You just read about fragmentation on a blog or heard it from Steve Jobs. There are best practices on Android development to minimize fragmentation issues. And no, you don't have to

Inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, maybe it is. For the rest of the world, I don't think it is. I'm waiting for people outside the tech sector of the Bay Area to start using it.

"Besides, as Apple proves every day, developers can hate your guts but still jump on cue if the platform is good enough." It's not about being good. If it is, developers would be all over the WebOS platform. It's because the App Store still

I think this works both ways. With only a 15-minute window, less people will buy your app but there will be less cancellations. With a 24-hour window, more people will buy your app but there will be more cancellations. I don't have any data

How about backing up your text messages, call history, etc so you transfer it to another phone? This is a one-time task. If it's 24 hours, I can easily finish the backup and get refund. If it's only 15 minutes, I won't have enough time.
