There could be something related to FAN thresholds that resides in BIOS directly thus starting using GPU just slightly over some minimal limit might raise FAN speeds significantly and not be related to temperature raise as there is some ine

I like to think of BC as simple "printing yourself money in your basement". Normally when you do it you go to jail and there are couple of good reasons for that to happen.

Sure, you can also make a laptop out of new RPi 400 by buying separate screen and bunch of cables ;-) I think you get the point here :-) It is only a slight difference, but at the same time big enough for some to turn mobiles into their dai

Well, this would be sort of integration of hub in a phone (aside from that that the new chip already has built in 3 usb ports) thus a big advantage for daily driver phone that you would use as portable PC. USB3 is already supported AFAIK.

Love the idea of that phone! And would love it even more if: - it had 3 USB-C ports - out of which 2 were USB 3.1 standard with alternate mode HDMI capable of FullHD resolution - it had processor that achieves in geekbench 5 somewhere betwe

Seeing trying to save some data on PGP keys in pacman db while removing differential packages makes me somewhat angry. Really? That is the a plan of priorities for pacman? Well, wasn't huge fan of previous diff implementation either -

Since there is no real completion on this market my 7y/o laptop worth nearly nothing today is 3 times faster than this 100$ RPi. Sad, but true.

Not a fan of flutter at all, but the fact that everyone in modern web tries to mimic something instead be able to do it straight says something about modern web standards itself.

Don't really think that the chances are as high as 50%. As long as short term profits will be more important than long term ones as long there will be not enough momentum to achieve it in 20 years

In case of compute purpoused FPGA designs you could just have pure LUTs and internal routing blocks, and for significant increase of speed and reducing power usage math blocks like multipliers or dividers would be a big improvement to pure

@tails4e First - lets not mix integrated devices with pure FPGA. Second, electronics is trivial, very trivial even. Software isn't so much. Especially effective software that can automatically manage all interconnections between LUTs.

I'm surprised with that move of AMD, there is nothing special in Xilinx except their 'super protected' compilers. Dunno why people think that there is some sophisticated magic inside FPGA chips. GHz limits force companies to
