I don't know enough about UK laws or laws in general, but it should be easy to discredit such law. It only takes one rebel tech savvy teen to send his nude sext to whatever celebrity/politician email/phone he can guess while

In the beginnings of the show I used to think that Lisa's suffering is a message of hope to other kids with aspirations - you suffer now because you are smart but in the end you will make it, not them. That all changed when she got rew

Everybody keeps talking about selling your data, but as a small startup prospect I have no understanding of this business model. Why is the personal data so valuable? Is it valuable outside advertising? Who is the buyer of the data? What is

Our family swears by a Roomba. I have selected/modified our furniture for the minimal height and removed door steps. Living room and kitchen is vacuumed every day at 3am (we sleep upstairs). It is a magic. Ps: I did a lot of research 5

Does it say Mach Principle is incorrect? That is good, as a non physicist I could never wrap my head around the distant stars influencing anything.

This problem is greatly compounded by Democracy - trolls don't have to confuse YOU - the educated rational thinking programmer - if they can confuse the lower 50% of the electorate.

I myself am not aware of all such patterns. Where can I learn more? Now that I think of it, an anonymous discussion is probably not protectable from well sponsored discourse control attempts.

Without pointing a finger, I will say I would be really surprised if this discussion - and HN in general - was not subject to a discourse control by paid state agents (sophisticated trolls) from China and elsewhere. Assuming that it is, wha

I don't get it. You can either make a gene drive spread to 100% of the population or make the offspring infertile. How do you do both?

Am I the only one here who thinks typing your password to a stranger's website is a risk? How do you know he does not log it? how do you know he was not hacked and someone is not logging all passwords that are not on the list YET.

Part of the problem is head count, at least in the company I work for. We had a hiring freeze and now we are allowed to hire two heads. I would love to hire one senior and two juniors but I can't.
