Correct, the US is the richest country on earth. In the rest of the world Androids are more popular. I guarantee you that if most of your friends have iPhones, your friends' incomes are probably on the higher end, statistically. Don&#x

Good job signaling that both you and your social circles have a certain degree of affluence. I live in the SFBA, hang out with people at all income levels, and I'd say over 70% use Android. Among richer people it's more 50-50. It&

If there are homes that are vacant and people that are living on the streets at the same time, that's an inherently unjust situation I think.

American billionaires dont pay much taxes either. The solution to this is to fix the tax code, not retreat further into nationalism.

Why should different rules apply to foreigners in this context? An American billionaire buying a few condos and keeping them empty has the exact same effect as a Chinese billionaire doing so. Rules around vacant homes are good, though, and

Rust trades off compile time performance for runtime correctness and performance. Far more people run code than compile it.

Not the GP but I use Linux and Android primarily because they're more convenient (to me at least). I'm philosophically aligned with Linux but not with Android.

That would seem to completely disallow any compatibility layers, which seems like a bad outcome. Unless you had some sort of solution in mind for that? I agree that the error message sucks, for what it's worth.

Do you mean passing a struct from e.g. clap 2 into clap 3? Yeah that won't work directly, nor should it in my opinion. If it is frequently required, projects can and should provide a compatibility layer which does any necessary conver

Only incompatible versions though — Rust dedups dependencies up to semver compatibility. I think that's the right balance. clap 3 is and should be treated as a totally different package from clap 2.

Doing capitalism better is the least interesting way to find fulfilment. Find a partner and build a family instead. Or find a hobby. I know because my thoughts used to be very similar to yours.

While you may or may not care about politics, if you are a member of certain groups politics cares about you. That is the unfortunate reality of the world we live in. However, I agree with Perens that licenses are the wrong vehicle for chan

I have serious medical needs and have built long-term relationships with a couple specific doctors at One Medical. Works very well for me — I see my doctors for specialist-y things and a random doctor if it's more urgent.
