If I want to read something on Reddit on my phone I just use Chrome's "Desktop site" option. Everything about these nags is idiotic to the point of insulting the user's intelligence. The randomness, the timing, and the m

You will have to learn whatever it is you do not like about C anyway if you want to generate machine code.

Well you can. If you understand the algorithm you can write it in any language you know. Additionally, C is at basic level just loops, conditionals and function calls so it will be easy to translate from it if you need to. And then there ar

There are quite a few nice modern games that look like this and I have had lots of fun playing them on Steam. Wadjet Eye's adventure games, Blasphemous, The Messenger, CrossCode and more!

A single biological brain neuron is a rich dynamical system with numerous patterns and transitions, and then you have different types of neurons where these patterns differ to some degree, and this is all asynchronous and modulated by vario

I do not think productivity cannot be substantially improved without AR but I am really not against AR either. I am not putting Facebook between me and my computer though. No way...

I laughed with your comment, thanks :). I do not think it is a good idea either, because what would we do with cos, tan and so on? Maybe it seemed good to Feynman because of his unique way of parsing mathematical expressions?

I am not sure what you mean by "relation" and what the benefit would be. There is a definition for "relation" in mathematics. A function is a type of relation and a relation is a set. But you probably have something el

I use --single-instance and it spawns much faster (and eats way less memory). Even without this switch it does not take this long on my machine (certainly less than half a second), but yes it takes noticeably longer than, say, urxvt.

A key trade-off is IPC per thread vs area. The CPU needs a high IPC per thread but by achieving this, the area goes disproportionately up and IPC / mm^2 goes down. The GPU does not need high single-thread performance so it has lots o

I wrote a matrix multiplication routine on a Haswell a few years ago, for no particular reason. I chose an 8x8 minimum block size since it seemed like the most convenient one, and I had one or two more block sizes for cache utilization IIRC

85 grams of DNA contain around 8 * 10^22 base pairs, 2 bits per pair, so around 2 * 10^22 bytes. So you need about 75 bits to address all these bytes. I do not know why Laremere chose 85.8 grams though as these are quite above the 64 bit li
