the worst thing about REST is that nobody agrees on what it is... otherwise it's pretty fine, you just need to find a good server-side framework with proper tooling (springfox for java, nest.js for node) so that you don't need to

Firefox is moving to rust, and for example adding webrender to your project is just few dependencies away, so I'd expect building firefox will only get easier, unlike to google projects where everything is built with their custom tool

To be clear, this is still very early version and it's not ready for production in any way, yet I'd love to hear some feedback. If you like it at all, what would you like it to support, what application you'd love to do with

I wonder what do you think about this: https://github.com/cztomsik/node-webrender node+react+servo, consumes ~30M ram on my osx (if you precompile typescript files) it's nowhere near to XUL but it's also litt

uh, I wouldn't say electron got popular because of copy-pasting newbies. webapp development is a lot of work and SPAs are actually even harder... and so is server development with node. I love javascript, yet I don't think it'

automatic memory management makes certain optimizations very hard to do (you can't make cpu-cache-friendly array of structs) javascript is very dynamic and V8 has very limited time to make its magic so the optimizations can't ever

electron eats so much cpu & memory simply because it's still a web browser, it has to support all those 20 years of HTML/CSS history and it was designed to do so for 10s of tabs, so it has a lot of caches and other things. and

I believe rapid iteration (and learning curve) is what made php and javascript (and delphi, anyone?) that popular. I'm happy there's another platform but they really should use some existing language with mature tools and libs. Wh

I'm not defending MS, but it's also not that they went and intentionally (and suddenly) introduced box-model incompatibilities, that's just not the whole truth. BTW: I've recently found this MSDN blog with explanations o

The only problem with IE box model was that they implemented it before the standard got finished (and changed) so it was impossible to fix it without breaking already existing web pages. The situation is not very different from now with Chr

JSX is not Javascript, you need to transpile, and not everybody wants to mess with webpack+babel or create-react-app, or anything other what involves downloading 1000+ packages from npm just to do some quick PoC. Sometimes you want to stay

I've just made very basic integration with node. It's rather PoC, but it works. It can currently show a window and render moving rect from vue.js template. There's still a lot of work to be done, webrender does too little to
