Actually, you can do jsx in vue. So it should be on par, except it has mobx-like state management built-in.

Please note: 1. benchmarks have zero information value 2. be careful about wording, react does effective DOM update, but effective does not always mean fast - what I mean is that compiled templates are usually much faster than doing vdom di

What makes elixir/erlang good fit for rpi? When compared to let's say rust or lua. Serious question, no offense.

There is one separate JS context for every tab you have opened right now and every feature has its cost in terms of memory & cpu. That's a major reason why javascript has very thin "stdlib". Also, big stdlibs are compatib

Yeah but I also believe it's important for beginners to learn by doing, even if it means doing wrong. There is no universal "good way" of doing software anyway and best practices and patterns can be harmful too. Take java spr

PHP is great platform for prototyping, even better if you're experienced. I actually used PHP a lot for general purpose scripting and code generation because it was so easy and fast. Now I'm at node-land (I had no issues with PHP

I would also mention (VPS) hosting costs. Some applications need many docker processes (postgres, redis, elastic, nginx, node.js backend) and each one of them has overhead in both cpu and memory (~15 MB). CPU is usually not a problem for sm

Pure async/await does not allow to track any contextual state - like current transaction/request.

This sounds like zones are bad idea but those problems are related only to process.nextTick and setTimeout, if you're using promises (which I do for 99.9% things) you're fine.

More like a context, any function can then access data relative to current request, transaction, and similar "async" flows. This is otherwise impossible with async/await.

Useful if you need "contextual" async/await (access current transaction, request, ...)

I wonder if we could somehow use the work done in prepack to generate similar tests for javascript. BTW: I don't want to oversimplify it, but it basically just looks at each branch and generates data which would pass the branch, right?

Really liked the article I also wonder how long it will take until people stop doing react just because it is cool. Choosing a framework is hardly-reversible decision and people (architects) should really evaluate all the benefits and all t

But you get another pain-point in return - having to replace the whole state at root position, which in turn leads to redux.

Part of the problem is Java environment itself, other platforms allows exporting single instances (import an actual singleton), so there is not so much need for DI Also, you don't need to swap everything, your application (in fact) has

Simple - sometimes you don't need IoC. Also, Java is statically-typed language and DIC are a way to do more dynamic stuff (@Transactional proxies) - such things are possible without DI in some other languages.

Vue is great, I love it for my personal projects and it's also fairly common in PHP world but that's it. Angular is very popular in Java world and it works really great if you need a lot of forms. These people usually don't

So why nobody is writing these "more complex" widgets? Really, react is here for a while and yet there is still no "solid" UI library. Nothing with keyboard-friendly lists, data-grids and trees. And what about "cont
