I forgot I had the hosts file, and was surprised by how little ads I was seeing when the add-on was disabled, until I realised the reason.

It is an insincere apology though, because it apologizes for something "you" are doing and not something "I" am doing. An acceptable way to apologize to "I felt that..." is "I'm sorry I made you feel

That's funny. I was just wondering weather Dreams was based on implicit surfaces, with their ability to scale their models in this good looking way, and then the article goes and mentions it as an example. Edit: I really enjoyed the ar

Great projects. Going to keep an eye on it/use it. I've been wanting to do a web RSS thing for a while, but my idea has bloated into a full featured RSS reader and blogging Platform. It would also need a search engine, but because

Yes. I learned from this article that there are code points for ligature glyphs in unicode and it seems like a pretty bad idea, tbh.

My mind instantly goes to a random, infinite level, turning it into a runner. But I don't want to backseat design your game. I actually really appreciated when I reached the end of level 1 and learned I don't have to keep restarti

A little more forgiving hitboxes would already help a lot. There is a lot of "I barely touched him" in there. But playing it some more, and getting it bit farther in the game, I'm already really enjoying what there is. Edit:

Great animation. And the movement feels really good too. I like the premise, but the one hit death on the enemies is very frustrating.

I was talking about hesitation from no reviews, i.e. no "objective" source on the quality of the product.

Amazon derives a lot of value from the reviews on their site. They can put people who are skeptical about a product at ease and lead to a purchase, for example.

I wonder what all the negative side-effects would be of rewarding review writing of certified purchasers with store credit, and if there would be a way to avoid those side-effects.

Why is there constant advocacy to do away with anti-trust laws on this website?

I have lost all sympathy for the big media industry. Pirate it all. Paying you just gives me a worse experience and you more power to make things worse. It's a lose-lose-lose proposition.

Very interesting. I once learned some basic statistics about how most people play rock-paper-scissors, and can now pretty reliably win most best of 3 games I play. I had to unlearn all of that strategy for this, instead trying to guesstimat

Interesting idea, but it would probably just incentivize me to not lock my phone anymore, reducing my security, rather than my phone usage.

With incomplete data I meant that you know your own hand cards but not the hand cards of the enemy. Sounds like you have some things in there that work similiar to how I envisioned them. I don't think XMPP integration for this project

Interesting project. I've been thinking about a turn-based game protocol to be used over xmpp. You could even have incomplete information through hashing. Does Saito have this?

Since trained classifiers are already being used, and therefore fair game, a trained baldness classifier would be a better choice, I think. Of course you would need a dataset for that.

It is considered a pretty big deal in the gaming industry, specially if they do leverage all the YouTube infrastructure they have like they say. We will see about that one.

The trope of "the US subsidizes healthcare for everyone else" has no basis in reality. Drug production is not operating at a loss in Germany.

GDPR is good, Article 13 is bad. The constant conflating of the two by private data protection oponents is really wearing thin.
