I believe this is also one of the goals of Lift.do, one of the current in-development projects from Obvious Corp (Evan Williams, Biz Stone).

Where does the "beautiful" part of this come into play? For whatever reason I clicked through assuming I would be looking at a way of actually creating, well, aesthetically beautiful web applications.

Curious if Live Lovely ( http://livelovely.com/ ) will get a similar cease and desist. They do essentially the exact same thing, but with a nicer design.

While I'd definitely not call this enterprise, I am impressed by how elegantly all of the features they do have are implemented. Yes, it's a simple product, but I actually quite like that (so many project management systems are bloated with

I'm specifically excited about Light Table (and the second half of this video where he dives into Python/Flask), because as a front-end guy, I generally spend most of my time in views/templates. I occasionally have to dive into models howev

I'm glad you commented on this. This entire post is very timely, but I was just thinking about what to do if multiple archetype's apply to you. I'm guessing traction/revenue is almost always going to trump the others, but the idea of mixing

I think many people are forgetting a key part, if not THE key part, in the selection process for YC companies, and that's the TEAM. The idea is second to the people behind it when PG and company make their selections (and in many cases, YC

I see what you're saying. In this particular video they don't show that part of the experience, and you're right, they definitely should.

Every time I've had someone swipe my card via Square in a coffee shop, the barista has turned the iPad towards me to view my order/sign, which is more than what happens with a standard POS setup. I'm not sure what else you would expect here

Came here to say this. The software itself is really awesome, and they have done some great UI/UX work here, but the hardware experience is still very frustrating. I'm really surprised they haven't iterated on the hardware. It's been what,

Also really important to note: breakfast tacos are amazing, and far superior to burritos. Just go visit Torchy's Taco's while you're in Austin, and you'll understand.

I came here to say a version of this, so I'll just comment/expand on your post. First, like you, I don't think business cards are the solution. Not only are they insanely wasteful, but the only way to "stand out" of the pile of business car

I highly suggest taking a few basic color theory, or just design 101 classes, at your local community college or art school. It's cheap, and it'll cover the basics, which is really all you need to get started on learning the rest yourself!
