In the 2004 and 2006 election cycle, Intuit donated substantially more to Republicans than Democrats: https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/totals.php?id=D000026667 Bush campaigned on (among other things) rewriting and simp

You're not really going to get away from large binary files in game development. They need to be version controlled somehow. Adding more layers of indirection for how that actually happens is just kicking merge vs file locking can down

Merge conflicts are definitely not the same thing as file locking. At the point where you're getting a merge conflict, it's too late. How are you going to resolve conflicts in an audio file? File locking is a way to communicate i

Perforce has a locking mechanism for files, which is important for the large binary objects that are used in game development. Git doesn't really have that concept, so it requires more out of band communication to make it work for that

I don't see that as much of a problem. The vast majority of Macbooks are going to be single user machines anyway. If you really need multi-user support, multiple users on one machine can always install brew to their home directory ( ht

I stopped by my local Apple store today to try out one of the new keyboards, and I was _really_ surprised with how nice it felt. It's physically not a lot of key travel, but it _feels_ like it is sort of in the same way that the trackp

I really like the new super ultrawides (32:9 instead of 21:9). I picked up one of these earlier this year and have not been disappointed: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-49WL95C-W-ultrawide-monito...
