Think of it as a stepping stone. Someday you'll likely be able to walk into a store, grab what you need, and walk out, all without stopping at a register to pay. To (3), your credit card company already sells your data to advertisers.

That's fine on paper, but the reality is that none of their "beta" products come with any real user risk. I think it's more of a "test drive" scenario for google. It's fully baked but they want to see how

This might be the worst name choice I've seen in a long time. It's way to easy to pronounce this the wrong way.

That may be true, but I'm willing to bet that most people are going to buy the cheapest iPhone they can get, specs be damned. Then, within a short time, they've filled up the available storage, can't take pics, update softwa

But you then need eclipse installed also right? I use intellij for my java needs and it makes me content the bulk of the time. Having used emacs + jdee back in the day I'm afraid of the lost hours to trying emacs+<insert hack here

I love emacs, but it seems like most of my programming for pay is trending towards languages where there is a huge advantage to using a "modern" ide. I'm talking mainly of java/jvm languages and objc here. I don't

First of all, I should have mentioned that I'm naive on the topic. From that point of view this seems like a very odd thing to be upset about, hence my question. Second, for having little attachment, they seem more than happy to house

This is going to sound snarky, but I'm not sure how else to ask it: why should I (or anyone not an expat) care? It seems to me that the complaint is from people who don't live in the US and have very little attachment to it other
