It's really frustrating to watch this play out. There should be a disclaimer in the social sciences with these sorts of studies. Disclaimer: "I believe that nurture, rather than nature, plays a larger role, generally speaking, in

Now that Apple has taken the lead in performance/battery life tradeoff, are there any machines which come close to the M1 for software dev? Specifically, compiling Rust, Android development etc. without giving up too much on battery li

Interesting point. I think it's something of a "dialectical" process. In periods of peace, micro-harms become important, in periods of war etc. the micro-harms lose priority. So I don't think there is an endgame, it'

I don't think psychology is the sole or even main issue at hand though I think that it is an ingredient in the rise to prominence of the "harms" concepts. I am more inclined to the lack of religion and the role of human evolu

Arguing that labour camps, apartheid, the raping both literal and figurative as well as outright genocide that occurred were justified because people today are "freer" (IYO) is a stretch. I don't know man, but arguing for a p

I just found out that there is a new Matrix movie and I am honestly a little bit horrified. I have zero confidence that the downhill progression in movie quality will somehow be turned around given the current state of Hollywood.
