I guess so, but that's another thing you need to remember to charge. I feel like that shifts the mental tether from, "I hope there's an outlet", to, "I hope my power bank has enough juice".

I used to think this as well, but the all day battery life on M1 really made me realize how much of a mental tether outlets used to be. It seems pretty minor, but not worrying about getting a seat at the {coffee shop/airport/loung

How do you define "massive hit"? That article cited an estimate of 9M foldable smartphones being sold in 2021 - compared to 1.4B total smartphone sales last year (~1.12B just looking at Android). That's less than 1%, no?

Haha yea maybe my glasses are a little tinted, but I think you're conflating two different points. Apple has released flawed products in the past, but they rarely (never?) include emerging tech that isn't polished enough for mains

Pretty cool tech, but from the Dave2D video, the crease + bulkiness is still bad enough to be a dealbreaker for me (and I imagine many others as well). I find it interesting that companies like Asus, Samsung, etc. frequently put out these d

As engineers, it often feels like enforcing one policy regardless of the actor is the best solution, but I think it breaks down in practice. For example, imagine if your email password was given out to two individuals - one is your signific

As an alternative to Leetcode, I have had a good experience with Byteboard. It's sort of a "project" based interview format, that comes with 2 parts. Part 1 is a design doc where a problem statement has been outlined with goa

I guess I should expect to see FB at #1 given this is HN, but even with the negative bias, it’s surprising to see people discount the success of Oculus so easily. Quest was one of the best selling holiday gifts this year, and the companion

Great write up! Curious if you/Mux have ever considered offering content moderation alongside content hosting? Seems like most platforms do one or the other, but I imagine you could charge quite a premium if you offered both in tandem.

I see this argument a lot as well, and it frankly makes no sense to me. All too often I've been at small to medium sized gatherings (5 - 10 people) where someone will record me/the general group and I'll only have realized la

I agree that Amazon's blatant copying of PD is upsetting, but I also resent the notion that consumers are to blame for this outcome. The solution is to change the rules so that we are optimizing towards the outcomes we want to achieve.
