I wonder why people don't use this to take out their competition more often. Just buy them lots of fraudulent clicks.

I used to feel sad that I wouldn't be able to see what our society will be like in a few hundred years. The past few years that feeling has instead shifted to feeling glad that I won't have to endure most of it.

Is it trivial enough that a 5 year old could do in a point and click editor?

You probably don't need to scale if all you're doing is auth and proxying requests. If you get to the point where you do need to scale, you can probably afford to figure it out.

You have a different problem. You can handle the authentication, and blacklisting, on your side. That's harder to do when the clients communicate with OpenAI or another third party directly, while incurring charges that you have to pay

Are you implying that someone (possibly temporarily) living in another country than where they're from means the sensible course of action is to instantly ban them?

Is it just me, or is this post complete nonsense? This AI hype seems to be proliferated by people who have never programmed more than 1kloc in their lives. But maybe that's the point? For example: > “babyagi” is a program that given

That works per application process, not per dependency. So that's useless to guard against evil dependencies.

Not npmjs.org's problem. Most languages their dependency managers don't give away indexed flashy web pages for free either, yet discoverability is usually not a problem.

To me it's so funny when people say ChatGPT will make developers 5x more productive, because those people are basically just admitting they're not good at their jobs and assume the same holds true for everyone.

The mere fact that you're interested in reading tech news means that you're somewhat more interested in tech than the average person (or even software developer). That's all.
