AFAIK You can't hook up old ISA or PCI cards to a raspberry pi, and if you can, the x86 drivers and software won't work.

GUIs are much more consistent across platforms than terminal features. Windows look and behave consistently but DOS vs BASH are totally different. I'm not sure what you mean by efficient keyboard commands. Command line programs are ext

This seems to be begging the question: At what point does one move to a GUI? GUIs are well suited for these tasks.

I've used TeamCity (the UI has changed many times), Jenkins (including blue ocean), Bamboo, a few others... TeamCity is by far the best I've experienced. Jenkins seems to suffer from too many cooks/anything goes mentality. It

Why do big companies insist on making their own font and then putting on a parade to celebrate its debut? Arial, Helvetica, and countless other fonts are a better option since I already have them installed, don't need a special license

It looks great to you but a lot of people think it looks blocky or blurry or both, and are willing to pay more to have what they prefer.

I suspect something like that. The video codecs it uses are Sorenson Spark (ancient), VP6 (google opened this), and h264 (certainly encumbered for a while longer). Though, patents haven't stopped open source projects like LAME or x264.

You can add these to the list of selfish parties: Developers wanting full scripting support; this is what lead to all the security problems. Advertisers that turned an amazing animation system into a thing everyone hated. Macromedia and the

This sounds like a bug in postgres (or a low-hanging-fruit optimization); adding the hacky offset 0 to bypass the inlining may help work around the bug now but may hinder future optimizations. My experience teaches me to avoid tricking an o

"[bad retina support] is not Apple's fault" Yes it is. Apple chose a resolution that was not 1/nth as dense and thus everything non-retina needs a lot more work to fix. Apple could have implemented and tested it better.

I love the cozy warm fuzzies that 'face-to-face bonding' bring up. I'm sure those same managers pushing for that bonding would be just as sensitive and show just as much concern for the team when they 'reorganize' a

Oh so many false or misleading claims. 1. "The keyboard allows for faster input"; sometimes that's true, but consider picking a coordinate within an image. Mouse is better than KB for such a task. 2. Composable commands; GUIs

I'm not defending dialogs or modals, but at least with those (on a larger screen) you have control over what hey cover. I suspect most users wouldn't even know the bottom sheet is there nor how to bring it up nor how to dismiss it

A+ job on a polished version of that interface element. It's too bad it's an interface element that causes a lot of pain by covering content and embracing dark patterns.
