Write tools and libraries for them, document them, and maintain them. You need to make it easier to implement your interop than it is to use their own tools.

Data locality still mattered in mechanical disks as it avoided seeking, and data locality still matters in SSD as a read brings in a whole block instead regardless of how much you need.

There are other benefits: typically shorter line, don't have to remove shoes, don't have to unload laptop into bins, sense of superiority, etc.

There's theoretically some performance benefit to rendering client side over ajax because the pages can be trivially cached, though you then run into the issue of pages being placeholders for a moment while the subsequent request(s!) r

We use bitbucket cloud, and the PR UX is awful. Which version are you using? Are you using a browser extension or something? Compared to UpSource or GitHub, Bitbucket PRs are very rough.

The telecommunications companies themselves screw up the numbers all the time. When you talk to their customer service, tech support, sales, etc, they will say 'megabyte' or 'gigabyte'.

This doesn't solve any of the problems I hear a lot about with technical interviews so I don't see how it's better. Everyone (interviewers and interviewees) complains about writing code and using a white board; this just enab

What does that mean lean right fiscally? Traditionally, I believe that means less government spending, but at least in the US, government spending doesn't seem to change significantly under conservative control. In fact, the spending j

It takes a bit of care for java apps to look native. Though no electron apps look native, and they all look pretty garish to me. IDEA can be pretty snappy and the Jetbrains team is pretty good at fixing performance problems.

But the electron app IS a web app and has all the flaws of a web app, plus one more flaw: it doesn't share memory with the browser even though it's the same code (more or less). I believe their are some smaller electron-like proje

I think you're benefiting from the coincidence that developers (managers?) chose Electron + 1 code base and void of well-written apps due to low market share. Sure, an electron app is better than a broken side project. But a fully nati

As someone who's worked on both declarative and procedural UI, I'd say declarative is harder to work with. It's much more difficult to debug. I think the largest benefit of declarative is that it largely mitigates unresponsiv

I think the article is conflating people's acceptance of web apps with people's appreciation of web apps. Web apps (or electron apps) are always worse than a well-written native counterpart in every verifiable UX metric. Let'
