There are many reasons you want to be able to turn up your whole stack quickly; disaster recovery is just one of them. And if you can turn up your environment quickly then why not have multiple staging environments? You start with the most

Last rant: everybody is testing in production, but only some people are looking at the results. If you aren't then there's better ROI to be found than "shifting left" your e2e tests.

To be more specific, let's say I can write an e2e test on an actual pre-prod environment, or I can invest much development and ongoing maintenance to develop stub responses so that the test can run before submit in a partial system. Ho

No evidence most of the activities actually save money with modern ways of delivering software (or even ancient ways of delivering software; I looked back and the IBM study showing increasing costs for finding bugs later in the pipeline was

When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras. The body is extremely complicated and cannot be reproduced for testing. Testing and treatment has a cost not just in money. If 99% of the time it's just a symptom of being obese, is it

The price usually varies over the day; in the morning (until ~10am IIRC) and late at night here in the Seattle area it's 14¢/kWh for supercharging and my residential electricity is around 11¢/kWh. But, if you can't charg

It's not a serious problem I have, just saying I like OpenSCAD, I have been able to generate every shape I've ever needed to create, and it would do everything I want if it was possible to generate true curves (because I farm out

Well, you could export enough triangles to get less than 0.0005" variance, but in practice actual CAM software will choke on it is my impression; I sent some circular objects out to be machined, but they just treated by OpenSCAD-export

You call out 2d and mention mills and routers, so after reading the page I'm thinking I wouldn't be able to design a piece to be put in a CNC lathe ala the hub in the lower right of https://canev.com/cdn/shop&

The awful thing is that you can only export triangles, so you can't make any true curves. If it was capable to true circles it would do everything I have ever needed to make.
