There are ways to help the homeless without giving out money. For example, volunteering at a soup kitchen, shelter, etc.

Thanks for the ideas. In my experience, press releases don't do anything. There's just a million of them, and the only ones that get picked up by the mainstream are probably ones with lots of novelty value. I could add a couple more puzzles

- I could be making more apps, but then I'd just be stuck in a cycle of replacing unoptimized income with newer apps. It seems horribly inefficient. - I'm not updating them regularly. What would that do for me? - No flash/web versions. - I

I went from knowing virtually nothing to being able to write Objective-C and having my apps in the app store in the last 6 months. It was hard and took a lot of time, but its possible. There are enough resources out there for you to get sta

Having someone to bounce ideas off of and just brainstorm with is pretty useful. I like to be like Einstein and have little thought experiments going on in my head about every product or idea I come across.

My degree is Bachelor of Management, Specialization in Finance. Aside from a well-rounded business education, I haven't really needed it and it hasn't helped me get jobs at tech startups.

Unity3D would probably a great place to start. Very tough hiring a dev for this kind of work; very expensive and hard to find good quality.

You may not want to hear this advice, but attack lower hanging fruit. As an indie dev, you don't have the time or resources to try and build a hit. Your biggest concern is money to eat tomorrow, so build apps that take less than a month to

Exactly, I played Yahoo Graffiti ages ago. I was actually considering making an iOS version, and then came across Draw Something on the app store. A few weeks later it blew up and had tons of press. This genre just goes back.

IMO web app. Marketing and distribution methods are far better and practiced. Getting traction for a mobile app is ridiculously hard because app store discovery sucks but is the most significant source of downloads.
