Um... so... you do know authors make a good amount of their money nowadays from audiobooks, right? Ultimately this hurts authors more. Edit: I'm getting downvoted because I think authors should get paid for their work? Wow. Okay, ive b

I mean, let's put it in these terms and see how you feel. Write a book. Your average book that reaches shelves takes 4 to 8 months to write. About 2 months for the first draft and roughly 4 to 10 rewrites depending on the author's

I guess if there's interest in it. Honestly, it's not like I'm that good at programming. Literally, all I did was second guess every line of code and operation I put down. I would try to think of alternatives and research for

Nah. Like I said, it was a distraction project and I don't do dev for work anymore. Honestly, making a basic ML framework is not hard. I'm not the greatest programmer. Hell, I'd barely say I'm even decent. So if I could

I started to learn machine learning relatively seriously. But I've always had issues with frameworks where the team goes out of their way to be clever rather than straightforward. ML frameworks to me are plagued with that. And I hate p

My two cents to add. Dont use a highlighter. Underline with a pen. Especially a good ink rich black pen. Not a cheap bic pen. Too many highlights annoy the hell out of the eyes. At least to me. And the older I get, the more it frustrates my

Ok, everyone says this. But by how much? Half a second? I load a video on youtube now with maybe 3 out of 5 bars and it starts playing in one maybe two seconds. I need to buy a new phone for what now? I need to agree to higher taxes or cut

I do believe it changes by state, but they do get payouts for doing a large portion of the project. However, the way it worked in the past, they pay a monthly lease to the city for using the land. For example, cell towers can cost 2k-10k a

Okay, that's a very fair statement I can agree to. However, I mostly argue that the taxpayer cost doesn't justify the gains. It's expensive and most counties and cities have to foot the bill or heavily subsidize it. If the te

You can already stream online courses and watch educational videos with 4g... same with wireless medical devices. What does 5g offer that 4g already hasn't?

That's fine. Prove me wrong. That's the point to a discussion. You share points of view. But if I follow your path of discourse, I could just say you're a sheep that'll believe whatever silicon valley tells you.

To be fair though... are you willing to pay to run miles upon miles upon miles of copper or fiber? For free? Someone has to do it. And they really dont feel like doing and flip burgers too.

How would and how many lives will be made better with 5g? Will it help people with debt? Will it increase housing supply to lower home ownership/renting costs? Will it help people stop overdosing? Maybe cool the climate a little? No. I

Agreed. Especially the opioid crisis. I think it's a "relatively easy" problem to solve. I'm totally for tax money to go to people who truly want to get cleaned up and put on the right path. I think that'll help a g

Reality is, it's also far more expensive to install 5g. It requires more fiber lines to run to more poles. Also, the telecom companies lobbied on state levels the max cities can charge for renting out putting stuff on poles. Plus tryin

Thanks for the extra info. Okay so, $20b in equipment for 300mil cameras... eh yea. I'll say that's maybe about right. After I wrote that, I was estimating $35b-$40b to deploy (fuzzy head math), including labor and infrastructure.
