Excuse my naivety but how exactly (excluding the handful of tech industry stock option scandals over the last 15 years or so)?

Amen to all of that! As far as loan institutions go and trying to create something that lets people invest in one another, the UK already has something along those lines: http://uk.zopa.com I think the idea is great and wish Zopa got more

Moved all 18 of my domains two years ago after deciding their high pressure check-out page had pissed me off one too many times. All my normal domains went to www.dyn.com and the few obscure country code ones I had went to www.eurodns.com.

I use www.dyn.com for all my domain and dns stuff and would recommend them in a heart beat. Note: they're not the cheapest though if that's something important to you.

Although I don't use it I have heard the symfony2 is one of the better MVC frameworks out there. The same people have also made quite a nice templating language called twig that you may also want to look at ( http://twig.sensiolabs.org/ ).

Sorry but that doesn't make any sense. Freshdesk operate in the same field and will naturally have some client overlap. If they spot an unhappy Zendesk user surely it is worth making them aware that there is an alternative that may prove to

I still spend time on there (especially when I've overdosed on HN startup scene stories) and have had an account since 2000ish. Providing you filter no lower than level 4, I find it's still as good as it has ever been.

I don't know how everyone else does it but in my case: 1). You remember to take cash and if you forget, you always have your cards on you and an atm is usually no more than a few minutes away. You can also increasingly pay for these sorts o

In France, over 50% of the working population are fonctionnaires (civil servants), if the unions and labour laws weren't as inflexible as they are, this figure would be a lot less and the unemployment numbers would rise accordingly. You mig

I'm sorry, I live in France and that simply isn't true. French labour laws and the accompanying tax system are the key causes behind France's huge problem with youth unemployment and a cripplingly bloated and inefficient public sector (goog

Something that would be hugely useful to me (a code monkey who knows good design when he sees it but is incapable of producing anything that looks nice himself) is a chapter that covers a few essential skills in Photoshop or Fireworks. Basi

It's not often that I get worked up over failed platforms but Nokia's botching of Maemo really makes me angry. The N9 shows they had a viable, potentially world beating platform. Not only have they thrown it under a bus but, with its passin
