There are finite human/physical resources. The money/time/physical resource spent on supporting Palantir and its employees could have been deployed on more benefital problems. Is I would guess the argument.

It's not really possibly to provide solid advice, nobody here knows the full details of the situation. But here's what I (might) do: 1. Ask them to put everything in writing, if it isn't already in writing. 2. If you're

Well the Wikipedia article on the subject is very instructive: "The 9-9-9 format was chosen based on the 'button A' and 'button B' design of pre-payment coin-operated public payphones in wide use (first introduced i

Ok, here's some advice from an Internet random person. 1. Yes, if you can take some time. 2. Do some crying. You probably feel depressed, burnt out, stressed out. Crying is a great release. 3. You don't need to do anything right n

I'd assume most investors are not really interested in you reaching profitability. In fact it's probably a negative for them. What they want of for you to reach a high valuation which allows them to get a +10x return on their inve

It's interesting to me that programming is becoming a fundamental part of many (maybe most) things humans do. And yet we treat it as if there was one single correct way of programming and all other ways are wrong. I feel like it's

Yes, next question. More seriously, it's hard to see what value publishers possibly be adding to the publishing process. Beyond tier one journals, full time editors don't really seem to do very much. But I'd love to see some

Right, I mean it's Turing complete, and you can do anything you want. But at least when I use it, I quickly reach for another language after using it for basic reformatting/simple calculations because using awk to do so would be t

My feeling is that apart from really essential meetings (and those are very few) your schedule should be pretty open and sleep/break/nap when you want (ideally at home). Then use metrics other than bums on seats to measure perform

The nice thing about awk is that it's really only suitable for simple record processing. You therefore stop using fairly quickly when the problem reaches sufficient complexity to use a better suited language. It's like a very neat

This article is pretty long, a lot of it is interesting, but quite a lot is redundant. All I would really want to see is a summary of a study showing that chiropractors don't reduce pain. But if even a like to such a study is there, I

Thanks for the link, it looks like interesting reading. But, how are evolutionary models a version of enumerating all possible forms. The forms accessible to evolution, are not all possible forms but only evolutionary peaks that can be clim

It's an interesting review but I think you need more than a few agent-based simulations to be able to broadly claim than ethnocentrism works in real evolutionary systems.

That sounds like a tough situation. Even with family, I don't think I could engage with a game like that. I guess in your situation I'd try and be friendly and kind to them but also try and find friendship/support outside you

That sound like a not very fun game, and I'd try and find other people to hang out with. Honestly, this is one of the things I didn't realize when I was younger. There are lots of people in the world, the majority of them I probab
