The nice thing about C++ and templates is that you can implement a scheme exactly like this without special help from the compiler :)

Yup, it's roughly the same idea as building a touch friendly website.

I agree with you, but the issue here is that in traditional phone architectures, the baseband processor could interrupt and monitor the execution of the main CPU (for efficiency purposes). So theoretically you couldn't be certain that

I dont see any legal reason why you can't publish the extension under a different name. Your extension is under no legal obligation to follow their acceptable use policy, only the users that use your extension.

What would be new in the sense that matters? I think it was a natural flow of discussion: someone gives their perspective on an event, another person shares a related scientific fact that supports that perspective. You aren't being c

I didn't have time to dig up more studies but I certainly could if I was paid to. My claim is true and all research on this topic has overwhelmingly confirmed my claim on male group behavior in apes, humans included. In any case I'

I'm not exactly implying that it's a mystery. Mystery or not it I think it warrants some public consideration. If the reason indeed was 0.1% jerks, that should be confirmed and addressed in writing.

I'm not implying an effort to prevent GvR from stepping down, but I don't think the lack of public consideration among core devs on why this happened is healthy either.

Are you not interested in what caused the leader of a community to step down? Do you not think that that information would be helpful in sustaining the community? This event is not business as usual, it should be considered with great care.

Thanks harlanji, hopefully dang or sctb unflags my comment. I'm not sure how I broke the rules with that one, outside of it apparently being unpopular. Very strange.

Ideology disguised as logic. Basically NIH. Apple engineers could have made C++ RTTI, and other other native features, suit their requirements. Instead they created a bastardized dialect of C++ which requires new domain knowledge to use eff

This is nearly what I'm talking about but it requires the terminal emulator to understand the image format. I guess that makes sense for transfer efficiency, and if you want a pixel-level API you could just transfer BMPs.

There really just needs to be a terminal API for true pixel graphics. Something like sixel but modernized and cleaned up. There's no need to hack in graphics on top of Unicode block characters, which negates backwards compatibility any

There is still accountability when a driver causes harm to someone on the road, pedestrian or otherwise. He's suggesting that AVs shouldn't be accountable when they harm pedestrians under abnormal circumstances. I think that'

Not in the same way, there is accountability when a driver or knife wielder uses them dangerously. He's arguing for putting the accountability on pedestrians, which would be the equivalent of putting accountability on a murder victim.

I wonder why your city government doesn't do something to help these people. Open shelters, mental health centers, etc. These people have issues, they shouldn't be left in the streets to be prey for drug dealers.
