If you really want burglars and locks analogy it would be invisible burglars, that steal secrets and things you don't notice from your home. Then some not invisible burglars appear and you realize you need better locks. Invisible burgl

I know I'm in minority and that this view is not empathetic one, but I really like that ransomware is around. More secure data storage at companies where otherwise it would be just silently stolen and sold. More backups. Even some ince

I would not bet on atomicsemi, I think it's just a tool for prototyping in quick iterations. And Tenstorrent I still see as a risky bet, but in my mind it's very +EV. Everything is ML nowadays and we still use very naive approach

Well yes, this is exactly why I say he is wise. And also surprisingly humble. But if you listen to the whole story, how the architecture came to be, scratching reasons not to do it one by one etc., the picture seems pretty clear.

K8 seems pretty small after he made the fucking Zen architecture (and Tesla AI). Lex has good interviews with Jim[1], he's not just very smart, he is wise. He started Tenstorrent some time ago with Ljubisa Bajic so I'm assuming th

I don't think that's a valid argument. Following this reasoning, no novel way of hacking has been done for decades. It's just higher levels of abstractions. Fundamentally you are just changing transistor states. For well esta

Yes, distcc. But builds are a pleasure with so many cores nowadays, there's also niceness options so even on the old machines you didn't need to suffer.
