Housing is usually a shared apartment on base with high restrictions. Kinda like a college dorm room with lots of rules. Heath care is okay, it is free, which is nice, but military hospitals sometimes do not attract the best and brightest

I think the pay is fair for the military. It is an entry-level job. I used it as an example since it is how I spent the first 10 years or so of my adulthood. Becuase I got paid crap and had horrible working conditions it gave me the motiv

There is this false assumption that people are paid what they are worth. People are paid what the market will bear. $28k is about 13/hour. For places like East TN this is not a horrible wage, and you can live on it. As a comparison

I work with a few as well. I have found a lot of nerds live in the Infantry, most like myself, just needed some direction when we were younger, which Uncle Sam was willing to provide.

It has been awhile since I researched this, but I think you can just have n RTK receivers within some distance and get quality data, you don't need any actual base stations, you just need multiple simultaneous observations.

I am really not that great of a programmer. I am 35 and was not paid to write code until I was 31. Before I learned to code I spent about 10 years in the military, infantry to be specific. The leadership and problem solving skills learne

I would love to see some full Tensor Flow bindings for Go. It's concurrency system is great for data science tasks. The statically linked binary makes it great for distributed workflows.

Polar regions are tough, not many libraries support them. Lat/Lon represents a point, MGRS represents an area. This causes issues when converting between MGRS and lat/long and back again. Also, a single location can be represen
