At the end of the day this really isn't much better. I would prefer FTP to be recognised as the bad practice/evil it is. 1FTP looks like it has a nice interface though.

Nice read. I assumed this is how massive RTS's handled their multiplayer but now I know for sure.

"Everyone" is a very blanket statement. How do you know the people suggesting "Just go, don't be shy!" aren't speaking from personal experience? I think "conquering your fears" is an important life lesson. You shouldn't shelter yourself or

I was more thinking coffee script development for nodejs. The browsers on a whole have only just got javascript sorted. I think it's too much to ask for native coffee script support in the browser.

Looks fantastic. With the traction Coffeescript is getting I wouldn't be surprised to see it eventually execute directly inside v8 or similar, bypassing the javascript compilation altogether.

You know what would be cool. Write your own npm that does logging which would open up a socket connection to your server bypassing sending logs to disk and being watched by inotify.

Work hard, just don't push yourself harder than you find enjoyable. For a lot of us that threshold is extremely high for hacking. This has always been my philosophy and it work really well for a long time. I broke it recently and paid the p

I like side projects. I have a few myself for many of the reasons listed here. In fact I'm much more inclined hire someone who has side projects. It shows they have a passion for programming/creating things.

First a little bit of anecdotal evidence: I'm from Australia and I just finished a 10,000 mile road trip around your nation with some mates. I can assure you your road network is falling apart. A lot of the time I felt like I was driving in

IMO no. It's a rather new ecosystem. Overtime a dominant variation will emerge. Even if someone did come to a conclusion of what should be the correct variation how would it be enforced?

It's always been a lifelong ambition of mine to own and fly a fighter jet. I was expecting to have to fork out at least $20 million for the plane and an arm and a leg for maintenance but it seems all I need is $10..? Donated $10 in the off

Good tutorial. After lesson 16 all the instructions disappeared and I was left with a white screen. Tried to go to a different lesson or the restart command but the instructions didn't come back. Couldn't replicate the problem unfortunately

It's almost becoming taboo to talk about the FED's activities, as though it's some kind of conspiracy but in my opinion this is a very valid point. It's hard to call it a bubble when all asset classes are inflating. Edit: Just to be clear i

Cool, but Google wont like it. If it's important text you'd want to make sure you had the text somewhere else. Maybe the html/css generator should include a hidden span with the text?

Find people who can execute your ideas (or part there of) for you. Think of your time as a finite resource, which it is. You have two options: 1. Do less of your ideas by focusing on what is most important. 2. Use someone else time Not ever
