All the shapes! When I was working in space science we experimented with using Hierarchical Triangular Meshes but we ended up not really needing the faster indexing it offered since most of our processing was done in small portions of the s

You might be sending a language in the request header (many browsers do this by default), something like en-gb. I bet there are a few other areas this localization information leaks.

Did you learn on an amiga, or did you build on another platform? What tools did you use?

Dang, I should have posted that one! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been planning a small Amiga 68000 assembly project and this series inspired me. Edit: last year around this time I was planning a Commodore 64 6502 assembly project, and I didn’t

But what many others in this thread have done is just as speculative, assuming malice, and to be clear, I think it could very much be the case, but I’m sharing another perspective based on a lot of experiences I’ve had where external partie

Time to check mine, I suspect it has such a feature since it hasn’t broken in ten years without removing debris :)

Coming from the Apple side of things: I don't care what you call it, I just want to close my laptop, then open it and get on with working, and Apple seems to do this really well.

That's a fair point. I may not fully understand who he experimented on, but it seems like the target of experimentation for the professor here was the reviewers and the journals, but he didn't experiment on people to write the pap

I assume (and I don't want to assume too much) you are saying the reaction here is hypocritical? If so, I don't agree. The Linux kernel is not too different from an emergency service. Interfering with its operation/developmen

Also, it's fair to say systems based on classification based on subjective criteria will always have grey area, so any absolute statement about them will be difficult to defend :)

Frankly, I've become VERY accustomed to quickly closing my lid and expecting to open it later with about the same battery life and whatever I was working on sitting there waiting. Apple has set a standard that I think in the year 2021

I studied comets, and published some original research on comet tail interaction with the solar wind, not that my opinion matters much, but in my experience for what most researchers classify comets, this is absolutely a megacomet. It'

This is super cool. I studied comets for a while when I was in academia, and my favorite was one called Humason [0]. There are other great photos of it, some in google images, though the ones I had in the research lab in a a few books about

This looks neat as a laptop, but I worry how much I'd care to use a laptop that doesn't have S3 suspend - is this still the case for all Tiger Lake CPUs, or am I misunderstanding? Also, I guess I'm curious just how bad lackin

It may make sense if you couple it with the MKULTRA/influence material he also had as a way to understand his adversary and potentially influence them using their own dogma.

Could you see the original cookie by inspecting the headers of the network request? This would presumably be the value before the page loads and gives access to document.cookie or a change triggered by a server-side header.
