It's not easy. I did it for 7 years out of college, slowly raising my salary from minimum wage to not much above minimum wage. Overall my standard of living wasn't horrible though, I had an old used car, lived in an old mansion with 5 fri

I've had the Fit for over a year now and I worship it. It's as if Honda put the smartest engineers on some of the more 'mundane' things you find in a car. For example, the back seat design is brilliant. They fold all the way down for an

In 1998 a friend and I were furiously writing a business plan for a 'business plan contest' held at our college. After 2 weeks of continuously writing and editing, at 3:00am, we couldn't come up with anything for the closing paragraph so I

To make something from nothing that has an impact, hopefully for the better, in how people live. Hitting payroll, though, in the more short term. :)

Definitely the mini. When you are getting started you will want to throw it out the window with the joys of learning objective-c. Wait a day or two. It's not that bad.

Anything can be broken into. The problem with computers is that if you break into one, you have a much better chance at another one. There is no perfect 'voting machine'. Quite often bins of votes mailed in are found after the election. W

When people talk about how starting a company will bring you to the best and worst times of your life, this would be in the 'worst' category. Spend time working your contacts to help them find another job. Your the one that screwed up, n

This is indeed a good post! The title is actually a bit misleading. I usually don't read articles that have the word 'myth' in the title. The best way to 'buy' time is to get a wire cutter and clip off the end of the AC cord of your TV.

I can't tell you how many times a large truck accelerated up behind me with the horn blaring and guys yeehawing in a not so pleasant manner interrupting a nice, quite bike ride in the countryside. Sometimes they throw can's or cigarettes.

This is a great example of ingenuity. We humans tend to have 'not invented here' syndrome. We understand so little about nature and ourselves that we often don't look for solutions that already exist. We are so often excited about, in th
