I really can't stand this trend. When I took a look at Lift, it was riddled with these "magical" method definitions that look nice but mean absolutely nothing to someone who's new to the framework. I'll gladly take a self-explanatory alphan

Luckily Apple has included a nicely organized touchpad settings page with videos of all of the gestures (just like Snow Leopard had). If someone wants to learn the gestures and finds that they aren't simply intuitive (which I personally bel

I'm not sure how he came to the conclusion that Lion isn't beginner-friendly anymore. The only reason it took him 20 minutes to get acclimated is because he's most likely been using advanced features of OS X (that were slightly changed in L

Are there any representatives or senators working on fixing this yet? Is there a petition that we can sign? Some kind of site to raise awareness?

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't rate Grooveshark 9/10. It's great, and I've happily used it for months, but it's no Spotify. Aside from the legal issues, the sound quality is generally pretty bad, the crowd-sourced music catalogue with incorrec

A wiki is a simple idea that beginning web developers can get started with. http://riki.heroku.com/ was one of the first web applications I wrote a few years ago (using Rails 2.1.0).

I believe the main issue is that the stick can be configured so that Windows will automatically run an executable on the USB stick when it's plugged in, so OS X and Linux wouldn't be affected by that.

MediaWiki is a large-scale PHP project that uses good design patterns, heavy usage of OOP, etc. If you're wondering about good development practices for PHP, I think MediaWiki's codebase is a good thing to look over.

I keep irssi connected to Freenode 24/7 in screen on a server, and I'm in channels for things like MongoDB, Rails, Git, EventMachine, etc. It's nice to turn to when I run into a wall while developing something.
