It's actually not a static banner, it's an HTML document that can take advantage of CSS animation, etc.

iOS was another big one as well. I was surprised that Cisco allowed another operating system (albeit one that isn't entirely similar) to use the IOS name.

There's a full screen icon in the top right corner of the Safari window that will put it into full screen mode.

How do you host an app on DotCloud? Is that functionality built in or did you arrange it with them?

Using scaffold code makes me feel uneasy. I'd much rather see things like this extracted into a gem and accompanied with a short tutorial or screencast explaining how to use the gem rather than code that may be overkill, can't be updated ea

I'd love to own some, but the price is a little too volatile right now and it's very difficult to exchange USD and BTC due to lack of proper PayPal/debit card support at most exchanges.

I truly do not understand the point of OpenID if the website is just going to ask you to provide sign up information that it could've just asked for from your OpenID provider.

It seems as though it will. I read somewhere in the Dev Center that an app called "foobar" can now be accessed via "foobar.herokuapp.com", which uses an advanced new HTTP stack that supports async and chinned responses too I believe. I don'

I've heard that it's impossible to submit apps that have been compiled using Lion to the Mac App Store. I'm not sure if the same is true for the iOS App Store, you might want to look into that before going any further.

Out of curiosity, to which "popular rails auth framework" are you referring? Devise? Authlogic?

If you're going to write a well-designed PHP web application (and that's subjective, but I believe most people would have a similar idea of well-designed,) you're going to end up writing or using a "web wrapper" (or in other words, framewor

Do you have a link to your app? I'm really interested in seeing web apps that work similarly to native apps, I've yet to see a great example yet.

Oh, awesome, thank you!. I never thought to use ZeroMQ, but that would work perfectly. Ironically, it doesn't seem like DotCloud supports these sorts of architectures very well yet, any plans to fix that? ;)

This is only slightly on-topic, but regarding the service-oriented architecture that he mentions at the beginning of the article, how would one implement this internal? Specifically, how would you communicate with your internal services? Ju

Because "show 3000" is much easier than setting up apache, turning on apache, forwarding ports, and giving them your IP.

The thing that I don't understand is that the problem of getting frameworks to work consistently with web servers has already been solved by the Rack project. For the life of me, I can't understand why CF doesn't simply look for a config.

If you send a mention to someone, no one will see it in the timeline except for the person who you addressed it to, and people who follow both you and that person (If that makes sense.) You're generally not going to annoy your followers by

That's actually one of the things Tumblr does right. If you close out of a post before you publish it, you'll get a notice on your dashboard to either continue editing it or discard it.
