OP here, happy to answer any questions about the game, my experience with Swift, or my experiences on the App Store (been doing it full time for almost 4 years now) This is my first attempt at a game so I'd love any feedback you guys h

probably just used those for easy math, or perhaps if you are in NY of SF then it's not "great" and certainly below market rates. Just because you can live on it, doesn't mean you should if the 9-5 will pay you twice tha

You are making my point for me. 330k would be the gross revenue, and 230k is what apple would have actually paid me. 230k / 4 years = 57.5k a year 330k / 4 years = 82.5k a year Perhaps you misread my comment as I'd be paying

I beg to differ. Unread is a good example. Making 42k on 1 app in a year is pretty popular. 42k isn't really enough though. Maybe 60k (which is what it would be without the 30%) isn't enough either, but it's much closer. htt

All the comments here saying the services Apple provides are worth the 30% are missing the point. The point isn't that it's unfair or that they aren't providing value, it's that the ecosystem would be better off if it wa

no, but it would certainly help. This year I will cross 100k paid to Apple, and I've been making slightly below market rates for a few years. If I had the 100k back, I would have not only gotten to market rates, but also have enough ca

I'd go with windows phone or iphone potentially now they are getting more microsoft support. No chance of the mail app getting replaced on either of those.

while i can see that appeal for people who want to get away from it all, but i can't fathom that those same people would want to live in the same building with 200 other people. it seems like the worst of both worlds.

while i'm not sure i agree that all work should be valued equally, that would be more reasonable than what a basic income implies. a basic income means you get it whether you work or not, and that is the part that I find undesirable. t

As an Apple shareholder, I'm thankful Tim Cook is the CEO and this guy is not. What a huge waste of 119 billion that would have been. Apple isn't a hedge fund, and they shouldn't pretend to be one. Yes Alibaba is a great comp

i have a 4s that i got in 2011 that works fine on iOS 8. frankly their support cycle is far better than with any other options. perhaps the year old phone won't last quite as long as the new phone, but it will probably last long enough
