Revenue is up because a lot of their contracts will be over a 3-5 year term and they'll recognize the revenue each year of the contract. It'll take 3 to 5 years for the pain to be felt and another 3 to 5 years from that point to c

Yet the CISO's are the very folks driving Shadow IT. I've been at a company where getting a Slack plugin approved took 8 months alone. Vendor review took a year. These departments aren't equipped for the modern day and most w

Maybe, but I don't think so. The market is simply going through a cycle. With such a high price per IP there are a lot of organizations finally putting in the effort of cleaning up their space and selling off blocks. I know a company t

Some things are impossible to destroy immediately. KMS keys take 60 days to remove. You can also start the close account process which takes 60 days and just pay the fees for anything not torn down and then it all gets nuked at the end of t

I think AWS doesn't truly care. They've probably internally planned for the day when egress cost billing would be chipped away and have been planning. It is a total cash cow and huge boast on margins for them, but they've bee

Use BQ to crunch the larger set into a smaller subset that you need and ram that into PG/MySQL. Used this to power a +$30M revenue affiliate platform tracking.

My hope was they'd charge for the IPs, but would drop the cost of NATs. I can't believe the cost of NATs! If you're running in triple AZs that is 3 nats you're paying for.

Ubuntu 18.04 isn't supported anymore. When I first wrote this I thought there was another couple of months, but then I saw 2023. We're in 2024. Not sure of the uproar if that is the case.
