Aren't the engines made by P&W Canada (which is admittedly a subsidiary of a US company). Not sure what Canada's sanctions with Cuba are like.

Really struggled to parse this headline. “Fictional Euro-note bridges recreated by artist” or something.

My friend, a children’s psychiatric nurse, said they offer something like 0.2mg doses for kids in their care. 1mg is huge!

The dosage of melatonin you can buy over-the-counter in the US always surprises me. In the UK I believe it’s only 2mg with a prescription, but I was seeing 5mg+ just in a grocery store.

My latest invoice (03/03/23) says: “This supply falls under the Value Added Tax (Tour Operators) Order 1987.” And it does look like I wasn’t charged VAT.

I wonder if Uber were trying to pay VAT only on their portion of the fares, rather than the total amount or something.

Potentially this is a tipping point for the things downstream. Honestly I’m just thinking out loud here.

I think the point is why has revenue dropped 10% for TSMC if everything downstream is going gangbusters? Doesn't it point to a drop in demand for chips, and therefore the retail devices they go inside?

I'm confused, isn't an employee tribunal free? Or do you mean it wasn't between 2014-2017 and has become free since?

My wife dropped her engagement ring in to a China Airlines seat. Luckily, since it was a flight to Taiwan, we were able to use chopsticks to retrieve the ring from inside the seat!

The award of the contract to run that particular collection of routes is ostensibly free-market. Once it's awarded, they hold a monopoly for the duration of the contract though.

I wonder what % of train "movements" are electrified; length of electrified rail is one thing, but I suspect the majority of that remaining 36% of non-electrified rail actually account for a small percentage of movements.

Indeed, rationing is often seen as people having to cut back on their food intake. In fact, its aim was to guarantee a decent minimum for _everyone_. The people working in factories making vehicles, munitions, ball-bearings, etc. needed to

I'd be interested in how many times each car had to be seen by the manufacturer, rather than full breakdowns (i.e. at the side of the road, can't continue the journey). EVs should be much more reliable in terms of full breakdowns,
