There was VBA and cell logic. The sheet was validated by a third party then someone ported it to a proper language (incorrectly). That model was not validated.

Actually when I got my iPhone 13 Pro they said they said keep the receipt for the case in case it falls to bits so they can replace it free. YMMV.

I think it's worth comparing to Apple here. I bought an iPhone from Amazon in UK and the screen developed a defect. Walked into an Apple Store after 19 months, without AppleCare and they gave me a new phone and migrated all the stuff o

I am terrified of the same things. I got given a validated financial model for something ages ago and found a major Excel fuck up in it. When I say validated, it was run through an expensive validation company who charged a lot of money a

I can’t wait until they end their recently announced Lenovo collaboration on the same grounds. Absolutely fucking awful vendor in the last few years. Shipping dead batteries, not even shipping anything and having little to no parts stock. A

Samsung love to kill their brand. Bought a Samsung washing machine. Completely died in 2 months. Their third party repairer wrote it off and said it’d be a month wait for a new one. Several frustrating phone calls and 3 months later no wash

I don't understand what you are saying. I'm saying it is slower on docker due to container startup, pulling images, overheads, working out what incantations to run, filesystem access, network weirdness, things talking to other thi

Yep. And you usually get lumbered with some shitty thing like github actions which consumes one mortal full time to keep it working, goes down twice a month (yesterday wasn't it this week?), takes bloody forever to build anything and i

Why would I use docker? You don't have to use it. I'm just generating static binaries. Does anyone understand how to do stuff without containers these days?

I'm mostly just running the (Go) compiler on my laptop which is considerably faster than on docker and considerably cheaper than the server... I mean an ass end M3 macbook has the same compile time as an i9-14900k. God knows what an eq

I remember my father doing this one. He was an SME support company. With two clients. He cranked the price up 4x and said ”we’ve got them by the balls” . They both opened a tender process and shot him and he was bankrupt 6 months later.
