In rural America, getting someone into the parking lot isn’t much different than in the front door when the next box store is 10-20+ minutes away. It makes less sense in the suburbs.

If your computer never leaves your desk, the iMac is pretty competitive with those features. Even comes with a TouchID keyboard.

I like the original commenter’s compromise. > It seems like they could have left it as a pure “paint” app and added the fancy stuff to some new image editor or something. Apple Text Edit vs Pages.

If you’re actually intended to Paint in MS Paint, as in create things from scratch, you need to limit the upper end of quality for it to be usable. Otherwise you might as well use photoshop. (But no I’m not kidding myself, I realize the day

Pixelation was a feature back in the 90’s and 2000’s. But yea, I guess it’s a bug in 2026.

It sounds similar to Lipoprotein(a) blood test for cardiac risk. It's (almost) purely determined by genetics. You can't do anything to improve it, other than to improve every other cardiac related risk factor. (There are some expe

MIT does pass/fail for first semester, but the reason they give is "to allow students to adjust to collegiate workload" -- I'm 100% aligned and support with that. What I'm not in favor of is a college doing the same

MIT describes the purpose of Pass/Fail during the first semester as: > giving you time to adjust to factors like increased workloads and variations in academic preparation and teaching methods. [0] I can 100% get behind that logic.

I agree that the environmental change is immense and that it's stressful. Do I think a consequence free first semester is needed to address that? No..

Starting your first semester in college shouldn't feel like "being thrown in the deep end". You just spent 4 years of high school preparing for it! But I agree that kids are awfully unprepared for the real world, so maybe cod

The majority of US jobs are offered by small businesses. The idea of “ease in” periods is nice, but it’s incredibly challenging when the business is understaffed (and hence hiring) for a specific role. You don’t have a lot of extra bandwidt

For some reason that doesn't make me feel better. If college is supposed to prepare kids for the real world, we should be creating environments that simulate the real world as much as possible. Creating a consequence free semester is t
